Okay I guess i am confused. So you cant just go buy items that are approved by the NY Dept of Corrections package list. You HAVE to buy items where they tell you to? I mean I have sent packages to my boyfriend at other state facilities, like Greene in Coxsackie, and I didnt have to buy the items online. I just went to WalMart and bought the stuff and followed the guidelines given by the DOC. The only item he wasnt given out of one package was the Axe bodywash I got him. Is this facility different for some reason?

You don't have to go through any company, you can buy and send any approved non-food items or bring them with you to a visit. Just be sure that you have the correct sizes and approved colors. I bought sneakers through Union Supply, but as long as they are under $50 and you provide a receipt you can send them as long as they meet the criteria.

Food packages can be split up or done all at once, up to 35 pounds. The DOC website has a list of all allowable items.

Please don't hesitate to PM me with any questions you may have.

Ladies to make things easier, I recommend using the website http://www.stateshopsny.com, they are approved by the NY State Department of Corrections. I have nothing but success when I buy packages from them. They have great prices and the packages get to my family within 7 business days. Also, I like that you can speak with the owner, she's very compassionate and knows what's needed.
