Address to send clothes for release?

Is there an address to send clothes for inmate to wear at release?

Are we able to pick inmate up at the prison upon release? Or are they required to ride the bus to Sacramento?

      Hi Helec,

My understanding is that you send them to the same address that you send his letters too. The only difference is on the outside of the box you write: PAROLE DRESS OUTS.

As far as picking them up. Yes you can pick them up. I've heard if they do take the bus to Sacramento that they take a portion of their gate money so if you have the ability to be there it would probably be a good thing. My friend has picked up someone at High Desert before and she says you cannot be on Prison grounds before 7:30 and they usually bring the guys out about 9am. She suggested being there at 8am so that you are there and ready if they let them out early.

      I hope that helps.

Best to call the prison and ask for R&R (Receiving & Release) and inquire what the procedure is at HDSP. Every prison is different and at most you need to check in at the gate by a certain time.

As ginger says, you can send the Dressouts to his normal address but be sure to clearly mark the package with Parole Clothes or Dress Outs. Some prisons require a special form be affixed to the package, so this is also something you can ask the staff in R&R. Also, WHEN you can send them is another question to ask.

Good luck and congrats on his homecoming.
