When in reception, inmates can not have visits until they have been there for 14 days (they can have a visit on day 15).

Visits are from 9am-3pm. (They actually end around 2:30pm).

When you first get there you will have to go into a small building to sign in and fill out paperwork.

You will need a driver's license or other form of picture ID.

If you bring children you will need their birth certificate.

You will then go up a lot of stairs to another building where you can put your belongings in locker that you can't bring in with you. (In the winter, if it's really cold the CO's will sometimes bring people up the huge hill with a van).

You will go through a metal detector.

You will go through some gates and then proceed to another building.

You will go in and go through another metal detector and then into the visiting room.

The visiting room is small.

You will be assigned a table by the CO.

You will be allowed to hug and kiss when your loved one comes into the visiting room.

There are vending machines in the visiting room which empty VERY QUICKLY.

Bring lots of quarters and/or dollar bills. (You can bring your money in a ziplock bag)

*Underwire bra's will set off the metal detectors.
*Do not wear revealing clothing.

The CO's were decent and didn't give anyone a problem. As long as you treat them with respect they will treat you with respect.

You could very well be randomly selected to have an ion drug scan done on you. It's very simple and takes about a minute. They will swab your hands, pants pockets, and tops of your shoes. *If you test positive you will be made to leave and won't be able to return for 3 days**You will more than likely be tested again when you come back the next time, if you test positive again you will not be allowed to return*

There is nothing for children to do in the visiting room. There is no play area there for them and they are expected to be at your table, not running around.

The CO's will tell you when there is 5 minutes left of the visit. (visits are supposed to be until 3pm but they have everyone leave at 2:30pm).
