Here is the information to purchase items for those that have loved ones in TDCJ.

eCommDirect (https://tdcj-ecommdirect.portal.texas.gov/) - Offender Direct Purchase Program

Welcome to eCommDirect – a direct purchase program for Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) offenders.
eCommDirect lets friends and family make deposits into the Trust Fund account of an offender incarcerated in a TDCJ facility and purchase goods that the offender can receive at their next trip to the commissary. This secure service offers online convenience and greater control of what happens with the funds you provide.

How to Use eCommDirect

Search for an offender using their Last Name and Offender ID
Once the offender has been verified, you can:
Make a deposit into their Trust Fund account
Purchase specific commissary items for the offender from TDCJ’s online catalog.

It's a little cheaper to send money this way by a few dollars depending on how much you send. If you send money often, it may be cheaper to do it through this service.

All and all, nothing real exciting or something that he would HAVE to have. Another option nonetheless.
